Ascot Road, Watford
In 2014 Orion acquired the 4.4 acre Sun Printers industrial site in West Watford, with the William Pears Group as strategic investment partner. In July 2017 Orion achieved planning for a mixed-use development led by 489 new homes, including 170 affordable. This new community will include cafes, shops, and space dedicated for community use, along a pedestrianised boulevard including woodland gardens, a tree-lined walk and landscaped areas. This was the first proposal to come forward under the Watford’s Croxley View and Ascot Road masterplan and the first to realise the council’s new policy on taller buildings. The scheme reflects the Council’s ambitions to set a benchmark of high-quality design across the borough.
